Make a Compass

If you'd like to make a compass at home, we've included all the steps to make it happen. You'll need a thick card stock, or if you don't want to make a postcard, regular paper and an envelope will do just fine.

Step 1: Fill out the form to let us know that you're participating.

Step 2. Download a Postcard Template (Microsoft Word or PDF) & the Compass (PDF

The postcard template when printed will produce four postcards, and will need to be double sided print. Two have a pre-written template, and two do not, just in case you want to write your own message. The compass will render the appropriate size in pdf. You can attach the compass to the postcard or make your own letter and drop the compass in with the letter.

Step 3. Look up your representatives

You are represented in Congress by two senators from your state and one representative from a district within your state.

The full list of the 115th Congress can be found here.

If you know who your reps are and you want to send them your postcard, put your initials next to their name in the spreadsheet above. We suggest a quick "CTRL-F" to find them. Or pick someone who doesn't represent you, and send to them!

If you don't know who your reps are, type your zip code in the widget to find the names, addresses, and contact details of these officials, but note that you'll have to come back to this page to go back to the spreadsheet.

Step 4: Mail it in!
